You can file dormant accounts for any financial year in which the company was dormant. So if your company was dormant for the year ending 31 December 2025, but started trading afterwards, you may still submit dormant accounts for 2025, but not for the next financial year.
Not necessarily. If your company is dormant for Corporation Tax and HMRC has not asked you to file a Company Tax Return, you do not normally need to file a CT600.
Don't pay to file a CT600 you don't need. If you've already told HMRC that your company is dormant, you will not have to file another Company Tax Return unless HMRC asks you to or you begin trading again. You can simply continue to file your dormant accounts and Confirmation Statement with Companies House every year to stay compliant.
